• 16 March - 16 June 2012, Fashion and Textile Museum, London: Althea McNish is featured in the exhibition Portraits: Women Designers from the University of Brighton Design Archives.
• 16 May 2012, Fashion and Textile Museum, London: Althea McNish will take part in the Designing Women Post-war British Textiles Study Day.
• 31 May - 22 June 2012, Barbican Centre, London: John Weiss will show new work in the Summer exhibition of the Designer Jewellers Group.
• 7-12 June 2012, Bermuda: John Weiss will give a paper "Averse to any kind of controull: American refugees from slavery in the workforce for the building of the new Royal Naval Dockyard" in the conference Bermuda Dockyard and the War of 1812: Naval Dockyards Society and National Museum of Bermuda.
• 2-6 July 2012, Ghent: John Weiss will give a paper "Free on board? Pragmatism and popular belief" at IMEHA2012, the Sixth International Congress of Maritime History.
• 12-14 July 2012, London: John Weiss will give a paper "Cochrane and his Proclamation: liberator or scaremonger?" in the conference The War of 1812: Myth and Memory, History and Historiography: Institute for the Study of the Americas (London University), Canterbury Christ Church University and National Maritime Museum.

2011-12
• 24 March 2012, London: John Weiss gave an illustrated talk on "A Crown for the Tree of Life" at the Annual General Meeting of the Society of Designer Craftsmen
• 6-15 January 2012, Mall Galleries, London: John Weiss showed a new collection in Designer Crafts at the Mall 2012 , the annual exhibition of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. The Pollie Weiss Colour Prize for a new Licentiate showing in the exhibition was awarded on 6 January to Justyna Truchanowska.
• 9 November 2011 to 6 January 2012, Barbican Centre, London: John Weiss showed a new collection in the Winter exhibition of the Designer Jewellers Group.
• October 2011, USA and Canada, first public screening and PBS broadcasting of The War of 1812 , a documentary on the War of 1812, co-production of WNED-Buffalo/Toronto, WETA, Washington, DC and Florentine Films/Hott Productions, Inc., including an interview with John Weiss
• 31 Aug - 6 Sep 2011 • Royal College of Art, London: Althea McNish took part in RCA Black, an exhibition arranged by the RCA and the African and African Caribbean Design Diaspora (AACDD), celebrating 60 years of African and African Caribbean talent from the Royal College of Art: Althea showed printed textiles from early in her career, GOLDEN HARVEST (c1957, Tofos Fabrics, later Hull Traders), POMEGRANATE (1960, Hull Traders) and FRESCO (c1961, Cavendish Textiles).
• 27 June 2011, Royal College of Art, London: Althea McNish presented her annual prize for the use of colour in textiles to Jonna Saarinen, MA(RCA), newly graduated in the School of Fashion and Textiles.
• 3-22 June 2011, Barbican Centre, London: John Weiss took part in the Summer exhibition of the Designer Jewellers Group.
• 21 March 2011: Publication of Scarves by Nicky Albrechtsen and Fola Solanke (Thames and Hudson), including work by Althea McNish.
